Grossinger Motors Arena to host annual Job Fair

BLOOMINGTON, Illinois — Grossinger Motors Arena announced Thursday they will be offering a Job Fair to hire staff for the 2018/2019 season on Wednesday, August 29 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the arena.  Home to the Central Illinois Flying Aces, the Bloomington Edge and host of multiple concerts, family shows and sporting events during the year, the arena relies heavily on the talented residents of the Bloomington-Normal area to fill these open positions.

“At Grossinger Motors Arena, our goal is to provide a safe, clean and fun atmosphere for everyone that comes through our doors.  Our event staff are the first faces our guests see and they are the ambassadors of the arena,” said Lynn Cannon, the arena’s Executive Director.  “Customer service is our top priority and we have a great team in place.  We are excited for a busy 2018/2019 season and we need additional talented personnel.”

Most of these part-time positions are offered for evening and weekend hours, although there are occasionally weekday events that need to be staffed.  Grossinger Motors Arena team members understand that hours are flexible and scheduled as needed relative to the size and scope of the event.

Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

·         Provide superior customer service

·         Properly screen guests during ingress

·         Regulate traffic flow through access points

·         Scan tickets

·         Assist guests in finding their seats

·         Work in concession stands as cashiers and cooks

·         Event set up & tear down

·         Event housekeeping
